Dr. Mark Ellis

Dr. Mark Ellis has meticulously served the Church of God In Christ, Inc. in numerous capacities across various levels of leadership. In 2012, he was appointed by Presiding Bishop Charles Blake and the General Board as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Church of God In Christ Publishing House and Bookstore, a position he held until 2017.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Ellis earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He furthered his executive training by earning certificates from Columbia University and the UVA Darden School of Business. In 2006, he received a Doctorate of Divinity following his studies at the Interdenominational Theological Center and SB Seminary.
Dr. Ellis’s professional career spans over 20 years in sales and marketing, culminating in his role as Vice President of Sales and Operations at Pitney Bowes Inc., a Fortune 500 company. Following his retirement from the corporate sector in June 2015, he was selected by Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Board of Directors to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the historic Rainbow PUSH Coalition in Chicago in 2016.
Beyond his executive leadership, Dr. Ellis is the founding pastor of United Christian Faith Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is happily married to the lovely Mary Shantil Ellis, and they are the proud parents of four children: Markayla, Mark Jr., Madelyn, and Martha.
