The Prayer Cloth: An Aid To Faith
“But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind” (James 1:6)
The importance of prayer and faith in the life of the Believer should never be underestimated. Through fervent prayer and unmovable faith, the mountains of life are removed, bodies are healed from sickness and disease, families are strengthened, churches are empowered and communities are restored. There is nothing unconquerable through consistent prayer and unwavering faith.
Occasionally, we use tangible aids to assist in the heightening of our faith. The Bible declares in Acts 19:11-12: “And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.”
Tools, such as the laying on of prayer cloths and anointing with oil, have long been used by the Saints of God. We understand, however, that such tools are simply used as aids in the exercising of our faith, and cannot be exchanged for the abounding faith we already have in Almighty God. “That your faith may not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:5).
