You have been named the journalist and creator for the Scholastic Motivation Ministries (SMM) Teen Newsletter. It is your job to gather info that would be interesting to youth. Click HERE to download the full information sheet.
There will be 4 sections:
COGIC Moments
You will go to the COGIC website www.cogic.org and pick a topic of your choice. Ask two to three members of your church their opinion on the topic that you chose. You will write an article on your chosen topic from the information you gathered. Include the name of your church and names of the members from your church that you
interviewed.
Recommend Teen Reading
You will research and review several online teen short sites. You will pick a story that you feel youth will enjoy. You will need to include information about the story so youth will want to go online to read it for themselves. You are the expert, so review several stories in order to pick the best one for teen reading. Remember, you will be picking the best story for your target audience.
Movie Reviews
Take a look at your city's movie website to review movies that are currently playing. It is your job to pick one or two appropriate movies and give a review for your readers. You will give them a brief description of your movie choice, as well as locations, times, and cost for admission for the movie showing in your area. Include information on matinee
showings, giving the teen scene a choice of viewing options that are more affordable.
