IYD Youth Advisory Council
The International Youth Advisory is an elected group of youth and young adults that serves within the International Youth Department President’s cabinet. IYAC as it is affectingly called is made up of 12 members and used as a liaison between the Youth and Young Adults of the Church of God in Christ and the church leadership. The Mission of the Youth Advisory Council is “To be a voice for the youth by presenting issues of importance and identifying resolutions to increase youth participation in church ministries and enhance spiritual development.”
Founded in 2006 the members have produce several IYAC youth magazine issues, Talk Back program during AIM Gathering Place, community service ministry in the building of a home for Habitat for Humanity in Louisville, KY and feeding the homeless in Detroit, MI, community service at Paul’s Place, a Coppin State College tour in Baltimore, yearly turkey gives away in St. Louis, MO, youth panel discussion at St. Louis University, IYD Community Day, and the successful 100 “Back Pack Give-Away” in Kansas City, MO and Charlotte, NC, and more .
