STATEMENT OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, INC.
The Church of God in Christ, Inc. (“COGIC”) was recently notified that Eli Lilly and Company has filed a complaint against several individuals affiliated with our church in connection with an alleged drug rebate fraud scheme.
The Church of God in Christ has no knowledge of the acts alleged in the complaint. The Church has not knowingly participated in, authorized, or condoned any of the alleged fraudulent activity described in the lawsuit.
COGIC takes these allegations seriously and is presently investigating the matter. Given our existing relationship with Eli Lilly, the Church will fully cooperate with Eli Lilly, as well as any appropriate authorities, in connection with this case.
Out of fairness to all parties involved and because the matter is currently under review, we have no further comment at this time.
