Church Of God In Christ General Assembly Announces
Holy Convocation in Memphis, TN for 2024 and 2025

MEMPHIS, TN (April 11, 2024) The Church Of God In Christ, Inc. (COGIC), a prominent Pentecostal-Holiness Christian denomination, is thrilled to announce the hosting of its 116th and 117th Holy Convocations in Memphis, Tennessee. The Holy Convocation, the largest annual gathering of COGIC members worldwide, will take place at the Renasant Convention Center, marking a significant moment for the denomination and the city of Memphis.

The Holy Convocation serves as a crucial event for COGIC, uniting thousands of delegates, clergy, and members from across the globe to engage in worship, fellowship, educational opportunities and legislative matters. As the legislative body of the denomination, the General Assembly convenes following the conclusion of Holy Convocation to address important issues and decisions affecting the Church’s mission and ministry.

Bishop J. Drew Sheard, COGIC Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Holy Convocations, stating, “We are delighted the Holy Convocation will be held in Memphis, the birthplace of our denomination, for our 2024 and 2025 Holy Convocations. These gatherings are vital for fostering spiritual growth, renewal, and unity within our Church. We look forward to the rich fellowship, worship, and impactful discussions that will take place as we gather in Memphis.”

The selection of Memphis as the host city holds special significance for COGIC, as it is where the denomination was founded by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason in 1907. With its rich history and vibrant cultural heritage, Memphis provides an ideal backdrop for the Holy Convocation, offering attendees a unique opportunity to connect with the roots of COGIC and experience the city’s warmth and hospitality. This year’s event will be held November 5-12, 2024.
