The Office of the Financial Secretary of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the church's financial records, ensuring accountability and transparency in financial matters.

  • Working with the Treasurer

    Collaborating with the treasurer and finance committee to ensure proper stewardship of church funds.

  • Working with the Board of Trustees

    Collaborating with the trustee board and finance committees to ensure faithful stewardship and transparent management of church funds and properties.

  • Managing Contributions

    Tracking individual member contributions and providing financial statements for tax purposes.

  • Reporting

    Assisting with the generation of  financial reports for the pastors, jurisdictions, and finance committees.

  • Working with the Accounting Office

    Reviews reports and reconciles them with the records maintained by the Accounting Office to ensure accuracy and integrity.

  • Recording Financial Transactions

    Keeping accurate records of all church income (tithes, offerings, donations, and fundraising) and expenses.

  • Ensuring Compliance

    Maintaining financial records in accordance with church policies and legal requirements.

  • Training

    Provides instructions and guidelines to ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of jurisdictional and national financial reports.
