Mother Carolyn J. Galbraith is the eldest of five children and only daughter of Deacon William Hunt and Supervisor Richardine Hunt. As a third-generation member of the Church of God in Christ, Mother Galbraith has served in many capacities, primarily the area of hospitality. When the 25th Women’s International Convention came to San Francisco, California in 1975, Mother Galbraith was introduced to the International Hospitality by Mother Jarileen Stewart, wife of Bishop B.R. Stewart. Mother Galbraith was then invited by International Hospitality President, Mother Mattie McGlothen, to continue serving.

Mother Galbraith became Assistant President to Mother Freddie J. Bell and served as Vice President to Mother Lucille Spann. In 2012, Mother Galbraith was appointed as the International Hospitality President by General Supervisor Mother Willie Mae Rivers. She was re-appointed in 2017 by General Supervisor Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis.

Mother Galbraith has served four General Supervisors and three International Hospitality President. Mother Galbraith served as a Co-Coordinator of the Women’s International Convention with Mother Olive Brown. She served as an Adjutant Mother for the Bishops’ Wives under Adjutant General Bishop Harold Jenkins Bell and as a member of the Advisory Board of the International Department of Women.  Mother Galbraith currently serves on the International Elections Committee, and as a member of the Executive Board of the International Department of Women.

Mother Galbraith has been married to Bishop Albert Galbraith since 1963. They are parents of four children, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her work is a testament to the precept that “in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not.”
