Bishop Edwin C. Bass

A native of Pennsylvania, he is the 8th of ten children born to the late Superintendent Joseph E. Bass, Sr. and the late Missionary Mary V. Bass.  

An alumnus of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, he also attended Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. He retired as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He has served as pastor of The Empowered Church in St. Louis for thirty years.  This progressive ministry continues to grow and flourish.  

Bishop Bass served in the administration of Bishop Charles E. Blake as Chief Operating Officer, Chairman of Urban Initiatives and Chairman of Jubilee Broadcasting. Working closely with all branches, departments and ministries of the church has given him a thorough understanding of the interworking of the church.

He is the Prelate of the emerging Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Spain.

Bishop Bass has served on the boards of St. Louis Transitional Hope House, Lindenwood University, the Urban League of St. Louis, the United Way of Greater St. Louis, the U.S. Justice Department’s Operation Weed and Seed, the Christian Hospital Ethics Committee, Enterprise Bank and the Colgate University Alumni Corporation. 

He has appeared on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, the BBC and media throughout the world and quoted in USA Today, the New York Times, the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the Huffington Post to name a few. 

He is the author of two books, I Won’t Be Silent Anymore! and So you want to marry me?  

The greatest asset of his professional and personal life is his beloved wife of 52 years, Lady Jessie Miller Bass.  As children, they had the prophetic experience of being saved in the same revival service.  They are the blessed parents of Sean, Craig, and Courtney and grandparents of Kyng, Paige and Hannah. 

Attorney Peter J. Davis

Justice Peter J. Davis is a distinguished attorney and partner at DAVIS & SCRUGGS LAW OFFICES in Birmingham, Alabama. With 26 years of professional experience, he specializes in criminal defense, ecclesiastical law, estate planning, personal injury, wrongful death, and various civil and criminal legal matters across both state and federal courts. An alumnus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he later earned his JD from the Birmingham School of Law.

Beyond his practice, Justice Davis serves in key positions within the Church of God in Christ, Inc. He is an Associate Justice/Secretary on the Judiciary Board and an influential figure in religious education as a Member of the Board of Directors for the All Saints Bible College in Memphis, TN. Peter’s dedication extends to community upliftment as well; he’s on the Board of Directors for Urban Impact, Inc. and is the Establishmentarian and Pastor at Landmark Ministries, COGIC, Birmingham.

A member of the Alabama State Bar, and the American Association for Justice, Peter’s professional affiliations and community roles are a testament to his commitment to justice and community service. On the personal front, he shares his life with his wife, Meredith, and is the proud father of three adult daughters: Dania, Ashley, and Brea.

Elder Anthony L. Fludd

I am currently the Assistant Pastor of the St Johns Church of God in Christ (COGIC), in Newport News, Virginia under the pastorage of Supt. Samuel Green III. I take pride in being a second-generation member of the Church of God in Christ, at the historic First Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn, NY under the leadership of Bishop Frank and the late General Board Member Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. I have continued my walk for over 47 years at St Johns COGIC where I was ordained an Elder, by the late Honorable Bishop Samuel L. Green Jr. and had the privilege to serve under him as I was appointed the 2nd Administrative Assistant under his pastorate. In the Iconic Virginia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, I serve as a Budget Committee Member and have been elected an Executive Member of the Jurisdictional Pastors and Elders Council (Treasurer). I have served as the Jurisdictional Health and Advocacy Ministry Director and maintained membership in the National Health Care Ministries Association. I hold the position of the Chairman of the Virginia Interfaith Center of Public Policy (VICPP) a non-partisan coalition of 25,000 members, which includes 750 houses of worship, 1,000 clergy of all faiths, and people of goodwill 10 chapters and growing! (VICPP) is the largest statewide advocacy voice in the faith community in Virginia. Additionally, I have served as capital witness at the General Assembly in both the House and the Senate. In the State of Virginia I served as Chairman for the Board of Examiners for Nursing home Administrators/Long Term Care Administrators and while on the board I was appointed by and served three Governors of Virginia in the following positions; Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, with training in the department of health regulatory boards that provided training in adjudication proceedings, during my tenure I conducted informal, formal, and public hearings and made full recommendations to the complete board. I later stepped in as Vice Chairman of the Board and ultimately became the Chairman, I then sat on the (NAB) the leading authority on licensing, credentialing, and regulating administrators of organizations along the continuum of long-term care.

 

 

 

Bishop Kevin E. Knight, Sr.

Bishop Kevin E. Knight, Sr. was born in Jersey City, NJ, in 1954 to working-class parents, the Late Bishop John L. and Fannie B. Knight. In 1976, he accepted the call to ministry and subsequently appointed by his father the Youth/YPWW President at his local church.
In 1978, Bishop Knight was appointed Youth President of the Hudson-Northeast District Youth Department, NJ Third Jurisdiction. In 1984, he was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ, and in 1989, he was appointed Assistant Pastor of Heavenly Temple COGIC. In June 1999, his father, the Late Bishop John L. Knight, passed the mantle of leadership on to him, and to date, he continues to serve as Pastor of Heavenly Temple, COGIC. In 2005, he was appointed by Presiding Bishop G. E. Paterson to serve as Vice President for the International Youth Department, COGIC, Inc. Bishop Knight serves as Chairman of the Resolution Committee for the General Assembly of the COGIC, a member since 2012. In August, he was consecrated to the Episcopal Office of Bishop and appointed Jurisdictional Prelate of the NJ3rd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in 2016; Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr.

Bishop Knights earned an Associate in Applied Science in Public Policy, a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies from Saint Peter’s College, Jersey City, NJ, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctorate of Theology degree from Grace Hill Bible University. He is also a graduate of the National Leadership Institute (NLI).

In 1977, he married the wife of his youth, Mary L., to this union were born their two “diamonds in the rough,” Kevin Eugene Jr., Shantae’ Merie (William Gary Young), and “beautiful rubies, Grands.” Bishop Knight is an influential leader within the ecclesiastical walls and in the City where he resides.

Pastor A.L. Shaw

The Judiciary is the cornerstone of democracy and, when the members of any democracy, namely the Church of God in Christ, is confident of the integrity of its system of government, then the members will support the Judiciary as it functions within the context of our ecclesiastical system of government.

Pastor A.L. Shaw was nominated by the General Council of Pastors and Elders, to serve on the Judiciary Board and is committed in working to preserve the sanctity of our church, its constitution, by-laws, and spirit, under ecclesiastical law.

For the last 40 years, Pastor Shaw has led the life of a servant leader. Married to his wife, Sandy for 39 years, he is the father of two children, Christina, and Cory, and has always conducted himself in the promotion of public trust and integrity.

Currently, Pastor Shaw serves as Pastor – Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ, Dean of Education and Special Administrative Assistant to Bishop P.E.W. Bryant, Sr – Prelate and General Board Member, General Council of Pastors and Elders – TSC Jurisdiction and Special Assistant – GCPE Southern Region.

Previously, Pastor Shaw served as President of the YPWW Department, Chairman of the AIM Convention and National Director of College Ministry for the International Sunday School Department.

Pastor Shaw’s community and business involvement includes, serving as Founder and Executive Director of DM Ministries CDC which provides community services to at-risk youth throughout the State of Texas.

Pastor Shaw is a godly and competent servant leader who is worthy of your trust and vote. He is committed to fairness and the execution of absolute justice showing the same impartiality to every member of the Church, regardless of their state or status.

Pastor Andrew L. Smith

Pastor Andrew L. Smith, Attorney, leads the multi-state Andrew Smith Law Group LLC.   He is admitted and qualified to practice before the US Supreme Court.  He is licensed in three states (New Jersey, New York, and Missouri) and has handled cases in California. His experience covers the three major areas of dispute resolution:  Court Litigation, Mediation, and Arbitration.   

Attorney Smith’s broad background allows him to provide value to individuals and organizations covering legal, mediation, arbitration  and related solutions.   He worked with a New York organization, serving as corporate attorney to Goldman Sachs, Mariott Hotels, and Unilever.

He served on two state supreme committees designed to protect the public and add value to the legal profession.  He served as president of two dispute resolution organizations.  He teaches many legal and mediation programs for organizations providing leading-edge strategies to resolve disputes and promote peace.  

Andrew Smith worked in AT&T’s Corporate Strategy and Business Development Organization and Lucent Technologies’ Global IT and Software Group providing global systems and solutions covering North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

His background includes system engineering supporting a five-state region providing engineering and technical solutions. 

He holds BS in Electrical Engineering, MBA, Master of Finance, and Juris Doctorate Degrees. He holds a Mini-MBA in International Business. 

Pastor Smith serves as Vice Parliamentarian, General Assembly; Member, Executive Committee General Assembly; and Member of Rules and Procedures Committee.  

He serves as New Garden State Jurisdictional Secretary (Bishop William T. Cahoon), Bishop’s Council, and Pastors and Elders’ Council.

He is a community leader and Pastor of Bethel Church of God in Christ, Hackensack, NJ.

Pastor Andrew L. Smith is married to District Missionary Corliss Smith (38 years) and they have three adult children and three grandchildren.  They are both saved third-generation members of the Church of God in Christ.

Bishop Enoch Perry, III

Bishop Enoch Perry, III is a luminary with an illustrious career spanning multiple sectors, from ecclesiastical leadership to legal expertise. For over two decades, he has provided distinguished service as the General Counsel for the Church of God in Christ. Concurrently, he helmed the Jerusalem Church of God in Christ as its Senior Pastor for more than 20 years. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Bishop Perry has served as an educator, regularly instructing bishops and laymen on pivotal subjects like Risk Management and Sexual Misconduct. His literary contribution to the church is notable, with several ecclesiastical publications under his name.

Bishop Perry’s legal journey began when he was ordained as a COGIC elder in 1989, leading a church in Washington, DC. As General Counsel, appointed by the Presiding Bishop, he was entrusted with providing comprehensive legal counsel to the church and its associated hierarchy. This ranged from church constitutional issues to intricate legal matters concerning tax, litigation, and international business contracts.

Bishop graduated from Howard University School of Law with over 45 years of legal practice. He served as a Federal Administrative Judge, presiding over hearings to arbitrate employment disputes. His role as a Trial Attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity witnessed him advocating for clients in equal employment litigation. As an Assistant US Attorney General (Special), he played a pivotal role in litigating high-stake matters with potential for setting precedents.

Outside of these professional pursuits, Bishop Perry’s commitment to justice and service is evident. He provided special counsel to veterans on the Presidential Clemency Board and has been dedicated to extensive pro bono work throughout his career. Bishop Perry’s rich tapestry of experiences and achievements stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment to faith, justice, and community service. Bishop Enoch Perry has been happily married for nearly 45 years.
