Supt. Andrew E. Perpener, Jr. is a multifaceted individual, excelling as a Financial Professional in Non-Profit Organizations, Musician, Songwriter, Author, Academician, Businessman, Preacher of the Gospel, and Husband. Originating from Mason, TN, with roots in Ft Worth, TX, Andrew's upbringing was shaped by the legacy of his late parents, Mrs. Willie G. Perpener, a schoolteacher, and Mr. Andrew E. Perpener, Sr., an aircraft engineer and radio personality.
Celebrating forty-one years of marriage with his college sweetheart, Shirley Perpener, Andrew’s professional journey spans over forty years, encompassing leadership, accounting, music, education, and church growth.
Educated at Fayette County Schools, Lane College, Robert R. Moten Institute of Fund Accounting, Memphis State University, All Saints Bible College, and the W L Porter Bible Institute, Andrew’s professional trajectory commenced at his alma mater, Lane College. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity, he worked eight years at Lane College in the areas of Accounting, Financial Aid and Information Technology before assuming the role as Chief Accountant and later Chief Financial Officer at the Church Of God In Christ Incorporated World Headquarters, Memphis, TN, for nineteen years.
In the educational sector, Andrew served as Business Manager for Fayette County Schools and subsequently as the Executive Director of Finance and Governmental Liaison for Jackson Public Schools, Jackson, MS.
Supt. Andrew E. Perpener, Jr., serves as a member of the Budget Finance and Review Committee of the Church Of God In Christ. The General Assembly has authorized this group of finance professionals to monitor all departments of the church in the areas of budget development and financial compliance. This perspective gives him valuable insight into the financial conditions and future of the Church Of God In Christ regarding financial matters.
