Dr. Leslie Pace
Dr. Pace served on the local, district and national levels of the Sunshine Band. By 2000, she was asked by Dr. Lytia Howard, the second president of the Sunshine Band to write the lessons for the International Sunshine Band and conduct the Children’s Institutes that were held during the Annual International Women’s Convention.
She later became the expediter for the annual Sunshine Band Worship services during the International Holy Convocation and Women’s International Convention.
Volunteering in the national office of the Sunshine Band became a daily commitment for over fifteen years.
Her innovative ideas, enthusiasm, commitment, creativity, faithfulness, and unparalleled love for children brought her national attention in the department of Women.
In 2014, General Supervisor Willie M. Rivers recognized her labor by elevating and placing her as International President of The Sunshine Band, Church of God in Christ, Inc.
Under the leadership of Dr. Pace, the Sunshine Band grew in a powerful way. Her career in music immediately attracted the children and caused them to desire to participate on the national levels as well.
The training certification programs for the presidents, new uniforms for presidents and children, meaningful workshops, dramatic presentations, and the totally revised web presence were trademarks of her administration.
