Vice President Althea Sims serves as the 2nd<\/sup> Vice President of the International Sunday School Department of the Church of God in Christ<\/em><\/strong> (ISSD) under the leadership of Bishop Alton Gatlin, where she is responsible for the department\u2019s Branding, PR & Marketing, Social Media and Department Publications.\u00a0 She also serves as ISSD Associate Editor for the COGIC Annual Sunday School Commentary and department liaison for the Publishing Board.<\/p>\n

As Jurisdictional Sunday School Superintendent of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California <\/em><\/strong>under the leadership of Bishop Joe L. Ealy, she provides leadership for the growth, development and training of the 213 local Sunday School ministries within its 6 Regions and 23 Districts.\u00a0 She is the first female to serve in both capacities.<\/p>\n

In November of 2015, at the 108th<\/sup> Holy Convocation, Sims was recognized and honored as one of the 150 Influential Women of the Church of God in Christ<\/em><\/strong> by \u201cThe Whole Truth\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Publication.<\/p>\n

In May of 2007 a door of ministry was opened through the Ascend Bible Study, <\/em><\/strong>co-founded by Releve\u2019 Entertainment\u2019s Dr. Holly Davis-Carter and award winning Casting Director Robi Reed, where Sims ministered on a monthly basis for 6 years to the Entertainment Industry of Hollywood.\u00a0 Lives were saved, healed, delivered and set free!\u00a0 Amazing testimonies were given each month of God\u2019s wonder working power through Sims\u2019 ministry \u2026 they are now taking the Kingdom of God back to the kingdom of Hollywood!<\/em><\/p>\n

As the Founding Designer of Artistic Creations Interior Design<\/em><\/strong>, a full service Contract & Residential Interior Design Firm, Sims has been afforded the opportunity of restoring the Bonnie Brae House<\/em><\/strong>, the birthplace of Pentecostalism in the United States; and creating the interior design for the following projects, Hale Morris Lewis Manor<\/em><\/strong>, a 41 unit senior citizen complex built by\u00a0 Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis and the Women\u2019s Department \u00a0of First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California; Life Church of God in Christ and Life Preschool<\/em><\/strong>; Bread of Life Church of God in Christ, Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ <\/em><\/strong>, Love and Unity Christian Fellowship and Born Again Center<\/em><\/strong>, Greater Deliverance Church of God in Christ and Gospel Light Church of God in Christ.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

VP Sims is the wife of Superintendent Emeritus Reginald D. Sims, founding pastor of The Dwelling Place Church of God in Christ <\/em><\/strong>in Inglewood, CA, where Elder Ryan David Sims is the senior pastor and she serves as co-pastor.\u00a0 They are the proud parents of 5 and loving grandparents of 11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
