Readus C. Smith III, FACHE joined Wellvana in January of 2021 where he serves as Chief Managed Care Officer. Prior to Wellvana, Mr. Smith was the Chief Strategy and Development Officer for Island Doctors MSO, a group of preventative care physician offices throughout Northeast Florida, where he increased patient panel size by 300%. Mr. Smith brings to Wellvana extensive relationships across the healthcare system. Mr. Smith holds an associate degree from Gwinnett Technical Institute, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis, an M.S. in corporate operations from LaSalle University, and a health law and policy degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. Mr. Smith serves as the General Secretary of Health for the Church of God in Christ and its affiliates worldwide, appointed by the Presiding Bishop’s office. Mr. Smith and his wife currently reside in Jacksonville, Florida where they enjoy spending their time with their 6 children and 6 grandchildren.
