Admin. Assistant Waverly B. Bumbrey, Sr.

Waverly B. Bumbrey, Sr. serves as the Pastor and Founder of Refuge Temple Cathedral of His Glory Church of God in Christ, located in Detroit, Michigan. His ministry commenced as Minister of Music at St. James Baptist Church in Washington, DC, followed by his tenure as Associate Pastor at Restoration Family Worship Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. Pastor Bumbrey has held numerous leadership positions within the Church of God in Christ, including Administrative Assistant for the Michigan Southwest First Jurisdiction, Superintendent of the J. S. Bailey District, and Vice President of the International Department of Evangelism, among others.

He holds a Bachelor of Religious Arts, a Master of Arts degree (Summa Cum Laude), and a Doctorate in Theology. Additionally, he is a professor and the founder of Floyd H. Gayle’s Bible College. Pastor Bumbrey is a published author and recording artist, with notable works such as the book *Due Season*, the album *Seasons*, and the single “Better Days.” As a committed evangelist, he draws strength from his roles as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
