Dr. Harold V. Bennett
Harold V. Bennett is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He obtained his Master of Divinity from the Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center, a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion and Ethics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bennett is the Dean of the Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He has published books, commentaries, and articles that explore issues in biblical exegesis and Hermeneutics, Religious Ethics, and Moral Philosophy. His most recent publication is “The Hebrew Bible and Black Theology: Fresh Hermeneutical Considerations for Liberation Theologies and Situating the Teachings of Jesus.” Dr. Bennett also served as a writer for the YPWW Topics and as an Editor of the Sunday School Expository Commentary for the Church of God in Christ. He, too, is one of the writers of the Standardized Ordination Manual for the Church of God in Christ. Dr. Bennett was recently name “The Educator of the Year” in the city of Atlanta and was inducted into the prestigious Collegium of Religion Scholars at Morehouse College.
Dr. Bennett has served as a commentator and guest on Religion and Social Ethics on National Public Radio and radio stations in Atlanta. He and his wife, Dr. Valerie Bennett, have been married for thirty years and have two children. He and his wife founded the Pentecost for Life Ministries, and Dr. Harold Bennett hosts the Pentecost for Life Broadcast. This Afrocentric, Pentecostal Bible teaching ministry, which aired for thirteen years on radio stations in Atlanta, is scheduled for relaunch on social media platforms in the Fall of 2025. Dr. Harold Bennett is the First Administrative Assistant at the Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ in Decatur, Georgia. He is the Ecumenical Officer for the South-Central Georgia Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ in Atlanta. He is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
