He has served as advisor to multiple Governors and Mayors in Indiana and Tennessee. He participates in several public and private boards of directors, lending his wisdom and expertise. He leverages his relationships to build the kingdom of God.

Many of his business relationships have funded mentoring programs for pastors, providing premiums for pastor’s life insurance, taking care of the widows, hosting community health fairs, food giveaways and much more. He considers the least of these in his decision-making. When He built the new 50,000 square foot edifice, he insisted that the labor force be made up of a significant number of minorities. Thus, approximately eighty-percent of the laborers working on the construction of the facility were African-American and Latino. Other churches building new facilities are now patterning this model. For his efforts, and his many contributions for the establishment of entrepreneurial enterprises, Bishop Maynard received the “R. H. Boyd Business Advocate of the Year 1999” award.

Bishop Maynard is married to Dr. Mary T.
