Dr. Gena L. Ross
Dr. Gena L. Ross, born and raised in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), is an Evangelist Missionary with a heart for ministry and a lifelong dedication to serving God through evangelism, education, and public service. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and now residing in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Ross exemplifies faith in action—bridging ministry and leadership to empower individuals and communities.
She currently serves as Director of Student Support for Program Success and as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science. Renowned for her expertise in conflict resolution and advocacy, Dr. Ross is also a respected voice in policy, education, and community engagement. In addition, she is a commissioned Missouri Notary Public.
Dr. Ross holds a Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration, a Master’s in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and an Associate Degree in Urban Ministry. She is a graduate of the Leadership Effectiveness and Advancement Program (LEAP) and a proud inductee into both Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Administration, and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). She also holds a Certificate in Church Planting from Asbury Theological Seminary (2019), a Prepare/Enrich Certificate, and numerous other ministry and leadership credentials.
A former Constituent Services Representative, Dr. Ross has also been a 2020 U.S. Congressional Candidate (Missouri’s 6th District) and a 2022 U.S. Senate Candidate. She was recognized as one of COGIC’s 150 Most Influential Women (2015) and honored as Best in Class 2025 by the Business and Professional Women’s Federation.
An author, songwriter, and the youngest child of Evangelist Gloria Ross, Dr. Ross is a proud mother of three adult children and an active member of Boone Tabernacle COGIC under Bishop L. F. Thuston.
