Supervisor Dr. Argatha Gilmore

Supervisor Dr. Argatha Gilmore is a distinguished leader in both ecclesiastical and public service, uniquely qualified to serve on the Church of God in Christ Judiciary Board. Currently serving as Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women for the Western Florida Jurisdiction and Executive Board Member of the International Department of Women, she brings over 30 years of faithful COGIC service at local, jurisdictional, and national levels.

In her 35-year law enforcement career, Supervisor Gilmore served as Police Chief of Lake City Police Department for 12 years, maintaining a perfect legal record with 100% success rate defending administrative decisions in court. She was promoted to Chief of Staff for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, where she now oversees administrative operations for a significantly larger agency serving 292,000+ residents, with direct oversight of Internal Affairs, Human Relations, Accreditation, Finance, Training, and Business Services. She advanced through merit-based promotions from Patrol Officer to Division Commander of Internal Affairs at Tallahassee Police Department, gaining comprehensive constitutional law experience at each level.

Supervisor Gilmore’s extensive background in due process, impartial investigations, and First and Fourteenth Amendment protection provides the judicial expertise essential for Judiciary Board service. Her ecclesiastical roles have included Chief of Operations in the Office of the Bishop, National Director of Hannah Projects, and National Catastrophic Emergencies Representative.

She holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University, Master’s in Public Administration from Florida A&M University, Certificate of Divinity from Charles Harrison Mason Bible College, and Bachelor’s in Criminology from Florida State University. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Harvard University Kennedy School’s Senior Executive Program.
