Pastor Jeremiah B. Penro

Pastor Jeremiah B. Penro, born on May 3, 1955, in Tupelo, Mississippi, is the son of the late Deacon Earl Penro and Missionary Lula Penro. A 1977 graduate of Tupelo High School, he began his studies in Civil Engineering at Itawamba Community College but soon followed a divine call to ministry. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s Degree in Theology from International Seminary and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Theology. Pastor Penro has been happily married to Missionary Annie Young Penro for 45 years, and their union is blessed with three daughters—Erika (Isaiah Sr.) Hurd, Demetrius (Jimmy) Lee, and Jermica (Will) Hamilton—and four grandsons. Together, they own and operate Cozy Cottage 208 LLC, a thriving Airbnb business that reflects their spirit of hospitality and service.

Saved since the age of 11, Pastor Penro has walked with Christ for 55 years, faithfully serving the church in various capacities. He ministered as District Evangelist for 10 years and as Jurisdictional Evangelist for Mississippi Northern for 21 years under the appointment of the late Bishop T.T. Scott. For the past 33 years, he has served as pastor of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, his lifelong home church. He currently serves as Administrative Assistant to Bishop Robert E. Barber, Prelate of the Mississippi Northwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. A passionate preacher, teacher, and author, Pastor Penro has written two inspiring books, “Yes, There is a Word from the Lord” and “Making Sense Out of Life,” both aimed at guiding believers through life with faith and purpose. To God be the glory!
