Marc Cooper

Friday, November 8 | Inspirational Speaker

From the day Superintendent Marc Cooper asked his father, the late Elder Lenwood Cooper (Founder of Cooper Temple COGIC) to anoint his hands to play the piano, Pastor Cooper has always had a passion for ministry and serving God’s people.

Before accepting his call to the ministry in 1995, Pastor Cooper served as minister of music at Cooper Temple COGIC for many years. It was during these years that his music ministry flourished and expanded into the areas of song writing, music production and the formulation of several groups and choirs, most notably, the Stellar nominated Marc Cooper and Friends and the Stellar Award winning, Miami Mass Choir.

In January 1997, after the demise of his father, Elder Lenwood Cooper, Pastor Marc Cooper served along with his mother, Mother Mildred Cooper as Assistant Pastor. At that time, he began to implement changes and programs that would set the stage for where God was taking the church in the years to come.

In January 1998, God called Mother Mildred Cooper home, and the mantle was passed to Pastor Marc who was appointed pastor of Cooper Temple Church of God in Christ.

Under his leadership, the ministry has experienced exponential growth. Pastor Marc was not only inspired by God to complete the building of a new sanctuary in 2001, but to also change the church’s name to Upper Room Ministries of Miami Gardens.

Pastor Marc has been blessed to serve in many capacities in the Kingdom of God. He has served as District Superintendent of the Miami District, South Miami District, and the Upper Room Fellowship District in the Florida Eastern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.

Pastor Cooper was also blessed to serve during the transition of the Florida Eastern Jurisdiction as the special assistant to the Interim Bishop and General Board member, Bishop Brandon Porter. During this time, he also organized the first AIM Convention, serving as Chairman.

Pastor Cooper is now blessed to serve as an Administrative Assistant to Bishop Edward Robinson Sr, Jurisdictional Prelate of the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He also serves as the Superintendent of a thriving district, the South Region Fellowship District.

Pastor Cooper is truly anointed to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this generation. His ministry goal is to empower and encourage individuals to use their gifts and talents to build the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Marc Cooper is the husband of Evangelist Joy Cooper, and the father of two sons, Marc Joshua and Johnathan Marc-Len and one daughter, Milen Adele. He is also blessed to have a beautiful granddaughter, Maeghan Alaina.
