Bishop Darin Burns is currently serving his third 4-year term on the Board of Trustees for the Church of God In Christ. He also leads the Economic Development Initiatives for the Church of God In Christ. Bishop Darin Burns is Senior Pastor of the Downriver Christian Center Church in Lincoln Park, Michigan. His Ministry focuses on the underserved in the Detroit Metropolitan area.<\/p>\n

Darin is an innovative Global Corporate Leader with 36-Years\u2019 Experience in successful business practices. He has worked in the United States and abroad: Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, and Philippines. He also has relationships in Europe and Africa. Darin earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from GMI-Engineering & Management Institute.<\/p>\n

As Director of Economic Development for the Church of God In Christ, Bishop Burns leads the following initiatives: Sanctity of Life, Affordable Housing, Foster Care, Workforce Development along with other Philanthropic endeavors. Current accomplishments include:<\/p>\n

• $1 Million allocation from the State of Tennessee for COGIC Outreach Initiatives<\/li>\n
• COGIC now owns one-hundred-one (101) Affordable Housing Units in downtown Memphis.<\/li>\n
• COGIC is re-developing the Monastery of St. Clare in the Frayser Area of Memphis, Tennessee which is the future site of the Kingdom World Mission Center that will house a \u201cmega-plex\u201d clinic, housing for pregnant
  \nteenagers, foster care, community feeding program, and job training program.<\/li>\n
• COCIC is developing forty (40) Senior Housing units in Memphis, Tennessee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Darin has been married to his wife Anne for 36-years and they have three (3) daughters, Kelly, Kristen, and Koren, two (2) Son-in-Law, Kyle, and Fabrice, and five (5) grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brandon, Richard, Brielle, and Milo. Darin and his wife Anne recently launched the Darin & Anne Burns Sickle Cell Foundation. This foundation will support individuals and families impacted by Sickle Cell Disease.<\/p>\n
