BISHOP DAVID A. HALL

David Allen Hall is an individual of varied interests and experiences who believes that the principles of Holiness are essential for changing the world. His life’s work involves a 40-year tenure with the Church Of God In Christ, Inc. that includes Publishing Board Representative, Editor of The Whole Truth News, and Chief Executive Officer of the Church Of God In Christ Publishing House. Bishop Hall is a third generation COGIC preacher, and since 1991 has served as pastor of the historic Temple Church Of God In Christ, founded by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason in Memphis, TN. In 2011, Bishop Hall was elevated as Prelate of TN Headquarters Jurisdiction and in 2021 he was elected to the Presidium of the Church Of God In Christ (General Board Member). He spearheaded the writing of the first Uniformed Standardized Ordination Curriculum for the Church Of God In Christ under the direction of Presiding Bishop Emeritus Charles E. Blake. Bishop Hall is the Board Chairman of C.H. Mason Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta. He is an Alum of Butler University (Bachelor of Arts), C.H. Mason Theological Seminary of ITC (Master of Divinity), and the McCormick Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). Established as an author, musician, critical thinker, and lecturer, Bishop Hall’s recent venture is farming. He is the President and Board Chairman of International Trustee Group (ITG), LLC. His civic involvement includes State Committee Member for the USDA Farm Services Agency in TN and Chairman of the Ecumenical Action Committee in Memphis, which supports the Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association, Inc. (BFAA). Bishop Hall is founder and Executive Director of Life Together, Inc., a non-profit that addresses the needs of Memphis and Shelby County, TN residents. He is also Chairman of the Greenleaf Development Corporation. Bishop Hall is married to Missionary Mary Portis Hall, M.D. He is the father of two sons, Elder David Allen Hall, Jr. and Elder Thomas E. Hall and has four grandchildren. Bishop Hall is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the NAACP.
