
MOTHER SANDRA JONES
Mother Sandra S. Jones is a dedicated leader within the Church Of God In Christ, Inc., seeking re-election to the National Board of Trustees. She is married to Bishop Roger L. Jones, Sr., and together they have four sons and three grandchildren. Her commitment to the church is deep-rooted, being the daughter of the late Bishop Frank W. Smith, Jr. of Dallas, Texas.
Since her election to the National Board of Trustees in 2012, Mother Jones has served as the Chairperson of the Capital Asset Management Committee (CAM). Under her guidance, the committee has increased the church’s property revenue, generating $367,200 annually and over $4.4 million in the past twelve years. She plans to continue her innovative approach by advancing the restoration and development of properties in Memphis and Lexington, including the revitalization of the Blake Building, expanding agricultural initiatives, parking garage and establishing storage facilities to enhance the church’s financial stability and growth.
Mother Jones’s role extends beyond financial management. She supports the Presiding Bishop and the General Board, assists in maintaining church properties, and ensures compliance with the Constitution and By-laws of the National Church, reflecting her dedication to governance and stewardship.
Beyond her church work, Mother Jones is a committed community advocate. She founded the R. L. Jones Community Outreach Center, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, where she serves as Executive Director. Her leadership has been vital during crises like the Flint Water Crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, providing support to thousands across Michigan.
