BISHOP MICHAEL B. GOLDEN, JR.

Bishop Michael B. Golden Jr., born September 22, 1979, in Hampton, Virginia, continues a rich family legacy in the Church of God In Christ. Raised by Administrative Assistant Michael B. Golden Sr. and District Missionary Deborah Golden, his spiritual path was deeply influenced by his parents and his maternal grandfather, the late Bishop Samuel L. Green Jr.

For the past 20 years, Bishop Golden has been a distinguished commercial lender, responsible for balance sheets, financial statements, and cash flow analyses. He has negotiated lending terms and amortization schedules, ensuring that constituents and corporations receive the terms needed to meet their financial goals. Additionally, with a decade of project management experience, he has overseen construction projects, managing site plans and ensuring timely completion.

Bishop Golden holds a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology and a Certificate in Financial Accounting from Harvard Business School.

As Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple Church of God In Christ in Hampton, he leads a congregation of over 600 members, driving significant growth and outreach. His roles within the Church include serving as a National Board of Trustee member, Vice Chairman of the National AIM Convention, and Chairman of the Capital Asset and Management Committee. He is also the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Virginia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Director of the Men Perfecting Men Conference, and Chairman of the Presiding Bishop Engagement Conference.

Nationally recognized as one of the “25 Most Influential Leaders” by Blessed Magazine and “State of Virginia Citizen of the Year” for Civil Rights, Bishop Golden met with President Barack H. Obama and was honored as “Pastor of One of the Rising Congregations in VA” by the DNC State of VA. He is on the Ecumenical Advisory Board for the Seymour Institute of Princeton University.

With his wife Missionary Trina Golden and their three children, Bishop Golden exemplifies faith and service. His campaign for Financial Secretary reflects a commitment to continuing this legacy of leadership, innovation, and fiscal integrity.
