BISHOP MARC A. THOMAS, SR.

Bishop Marc Anthony Thomas, Sr., was born, August 1, 1970, to the late Bishop Ted Gera and the late Mother Charletta Virginia Clifton Thomas. At the culmination of his secondary education, he earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and his Master of Arts in Education from Norfolk State University.

In the secular realm Bishop Thomas was a former educator for Chesapeake Public Schools (1993-2006). Presently, Bishop Thomas serves as a managing member of Thomas Enterprise Group, LLC. He is also an Administrative Liaison for CMC Holdings, Inc., A dual family enterprise which owns Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia. Lastly, Bishop Thomas is the CEO of Corinthian Music Worx, a privately owned, faith based music and media publishing company.

Bishop Thomas is also a loving husband and caring father. He is married to his bride of over 25 years, Evangelist Naomi K. Thomas. They are the proud parents of four handsome sons; Deacon Marc Anthony Thomas, Jr., Evan Fitzgerald Thomas, Aaron Xavier Gera Thomas and William Marson Simuel Thomas.

As a fourth generation preacher and Church Of God In Christ minister, Bishop Marc Anthony Thomas sincerely loves God, His people and the work of ministry. At present, Bishop Thomas is Lead Pastor of the New Community Temple COGIC, Portsmouth, Virginia. Serving his father fervently in the Virginia First Jurisdiction, Bishop Thomas served as Jurisdictional Secretary, Chief Adjutant and Conference Coordinator among many other roles. In the national work, Bishop Thomas formally served as Conference Chairman, General Council of Pastors and Elders COGIC, President, East Region, International Youth Department COGIC and National Adjutant Overseer.

On Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the close of the International Holy Convocation, Bishop Marc Anthony Thomas, Sr., was consecrated to the office of Auxiliary Bishop, Virginia First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ. On October 30, 2021 upon the demise of his father, the late Bishop Ted G Thomas, Sr., General Board Member, Bishop Marc Anthony Thomas was recommended and subsequently ratified to serve as Jurisdictional Prelate, Eighth in Succession, Historic Virginia First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ, Inc.

Above all else Bishop Thomas is Saved, Sanctified and Filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.
