Executive Summary

As a high-level  executive I  possess in-depth knowledge in  Budget Management, Life  Coaching,  leadership development  and  community relations.  I  bring enthusiasm,  and  energy that  will  support  staff members  in   instructional   routines,   behavior   management,   development   management,   and motivational support.  My ability to negotiate, present and articulate has allowed for opportunities to not only impact my colleagues but to negotiate successfully with individuals and companies that are being considered  for  business.  I  understand  how  to  collaborate  and  build  trusting relationships with colleagues, clients, and organizations in which collegiality can be at its best.

Instruct, negotiate, evaluate and facilitate all duties related to organizations development and policy needs. Develop policy and procedures for all facets of the organization. Ensures that all parties operate within the revenue standards established. Teach concepts and techniques as directed by clients. Create reports, brochures and other necessary publications. Maintained strategic communications, planning, and policy development for the State of Georgia’s Scrap Tire programs. Presented  health and wellness  seminars.  Provided public administration, training, leadership, and direction to city, county and government branch offices throughout the state  of  Georgia.  Collaborated  with  other  state  offices  on  methods  and  market  development. Monitored marketing programs. Emerged as the community relation specialist for all internal and external  partners.   Worked  independently  as  directed  in  order  to  coordinate  events,   meet management  deadlines and objectives. Center for Success and Excellence 1994–1998

Planned and developed programs, donor lists, budgets, and services according to customer requirements. Provided marketing development  strategies, leadership development and disciplinary instruction for staff and volunteers of at-risk youth program. Managed the daily office operations including human resource operations and  special events. Sustained a creative work environment  to foster positive and efficient relations. Successfully managed and supervised over 60 volunteers. Obtained permits from fire and health departments to erect displays and exhibits and served food at events. Promoted conference, convention and trades show services by performing tasks such as meeting with professional and trade associations and producing brochures and other publications. Coordinated  services  for  events,  such  as  accommodation  and  transportation  for  participants, facilities,  catering,  signage,  displays,  special  needs  requirements,  printing  and  event  security. Reviewed event bills for accuracy and approve payment.

 

Director, Clean Air Act/Voluntary Ozone Action Program – Communication Specialist
Georgia State University, Environmental Protection Division 1997 – 1998
Responsible for the implementation of Georgia’s Clean Air Act; worked with the state in strategic communications planning and policy development of the Voluntary Ozone Action Program (Clean Air Act). Delivered and administered supervisory support and enhancements to other outreach staff members and leaders. Designed and implemented a successful Voluntary Ozone Action Program in the state of Georgia (now the Georgia Clean Air Act). Successfully managed a budget of 15 million dollars. Implemented state strategy for the 4-day workweek, transit subsidies and carpool expansions.

Aurora University 1991 –1994

Managed, directed and facilitated all duties related to a state institution’s affirmative action office. Researched,   read   and   interpreted   laws,   evaluations   and   other   professional   documentation pertaining  to  Affirmative  Action  Act  and   Americans  with  Disabilities  Act.  Managed  and administered  quarterly  budget  reports.  Effectively  managed  staff  in  Career  and  Job  Search Services,  Continuing  Education,  International  Student  Services,  Minority  Student  Services, Planning and Development and Student Affairs programming. Cultivated a mentor system for at- risk  students.  Served  as  a  resource  person  for  Admission  efforts  and  their  recruitment  base. Evaluated and select providers of services according to customer requirements. Interpreted trade publications, attended seminars, and consulted with other meeting professionals to keep abreast of meeting  management  standards  and  trends.  Successfully  raised  funding  for  events  through community  partnerships.  Designed  and  implemented  efforts  to  publicize  events  and  promote sponsorships.
