Empowering 1,000 COGIC Churches: Launch of Capacity Building Initiative to Enhance Community Impact
Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a groundbreaking capacity building initiative aimed at empowering churches within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) denomination to enhance their leadership capabilities and community impact. The 1,000 Churches in 1,000 Days Initiative is a collaboration between COGIC Urban Initiatives, COGIC Charities, Church leadership and supported by philanthropic partners. This initiative offers tailored training programs and resources to churches of all sizes, from small congregations to larger ministries.
The capacity building initiative, set to commence in November 2024, is designed to address the unique needs and challenges faced by COGIC churches across the nation. Through a comprehensive curriculum encompassing leadership development, community engagement strategies, and financial management, participating churches will gain the skills and resources needed to thrive and make a positive difference in their communities.
Each tier is designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by COGIC churches of different sizes, providing them with the necessary training, resources, and support to thrive and make a positive impact in their communities at no cost.
Note: All churches would also receive the initial onboarding to create a community development corporation (CDC) or 501c3 organization if their assessment identified this as a necessary component. We will also provide financial audits to ensure churches have the financial infrastructure in place to seek additional funding.
