Jackson Memorial Church Of God In Christ has suffered devastating losses due to COVID-19. They lost three members: Elder Phillip Parish, Elder Freddie Brown, Jr. and Brown’s Son, Freddie Brown, III, to COVID-19. We ask that the saints keep these families and this church family in your thoughts and prayers.
This church body has complied with all directives given by governing authorities and directives from our Presiding Bishop, Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. on social distancing, limiting meetings and transitioning to online services, but they have still been drastically affected. Given the loss, Pastor Kiemba Knowlin, pastor of this COGIC church in Flint, Michigan is stepping up to fight the spread of the coronavirus. He is working to allow the church to be used as a testing facility. When asked about the situation, Knowlin had the following to say:
“This is time for a Faith that leans forward. Unshakeable Faith because we serve an Unshakeable God! We are a city sitting on a hill. Bishop Sheard guided me in looking for ways to help, and he suggested we try to become a testing site. I was determined to not sit back and let this stuff happen to our congregation and community, but we would actively pray everyday as a church and pursue ways to minister to the community.”
