God, who is omnipotent and omniscient, has summoned His Server, Bishop John Lewis Johnson<\/strong><\/em>, to eternal rest. Bishop Johnson was an Auxiliary Bishop in Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction; serving under Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop James E. Hornsby. Bishop Johnson was Pastor of Greater Progressive Church Of God In Christ in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n

Bishop Johnson served the Fort Worth community and was recognized as a “Living Legend.” This Gospel Giant had a tenure of 70 years of Gospel preaching, 61 years of Pastoral Ministry, 50 years of service as District Superintendent, and 24 years as an Administrative Assistant. In 2009, he and his late wife Mother Alma Katherine Johnson celebrated 65 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic resulting in local and state restrictions on public gatherings to achieve social distancing, the family will hold a private memorial service<\/a> for this servant.<\/p>\n

During this time of uncertainty, we request the continued prayers as well as acts of emotional and spiritual support for the family.\u00a0 It is with great honor that the National Adjutancy will assist the family during this most difficult time.<\/p>\n
