109th Holy Convocation – Nurses Training

Dear Saint,

Blessings to each of you in the awesome name of Jesus! The International Nurses Unit is ready to serve at the 109th Holy Convocation in St. Louis November 7-15, 2016. Please assist us by scheduling the shifts you can serve during the convention. Please email Sis. Nurses Unit Coordinator at [email protected] or call 618-857-8007 to schedule shifts, if you have not done so.

” A Cry at Midnight” Prayer begins on Monday, November 7th at 11:30 pm and end on Tuesday, November 8th at 9:00 am in the America’s Center Hall 4 & 5. Our attire is white uniforms with red blazers/lab jackets on our official days, Friday, November 11th (Mother Rivers Annual Message and Women’s Day Services) and Sunday, November 13th (Bishop Blake’s Annual Message). All other services, please wear the sapphire or royal blue blazer/lab jacket. Male members, white shirts, pants and a white lab coat. Physicians/Physician’s Assistants/Advance Practice Nurses can wear regular clothing and a lab coat. Please remember to bring your stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, evidence of your license, CPR and/or First Aid card. Our First Aid station will be in room 116. We will have a room in the Dome on Friday evening and on both Sunday services in room 162.

Our Bishop O.T. Jones Memorial Educational Institute workshops will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, our speaker will be Evangelist Rosa Robinson. Her topic is entitled, “Zika Virus.” On Thursday, November 10th, our speaker will be yours truly, Evangelist Sharon Woodfox-Ryan. My topic is entitled, “Work/Life (and Health Ministry) Balance: Learning to Say, “No” Strategically ” On Saturday, November 12th, our speaker will be Evangelist Verdell Marsh. Her topic is entitled, ” Critical Thinking is Critical in Patient Care.” Our workshops will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am, in room 162 in the America’s Center. Our Annual INU meeting will be from11:00 am-12:00 pm, in the same room. T-shirts, $20, Polo’s, $35, Nurse bags for $35 (only a few left), 2016 INU Health Calendars for $20 (if available), INU logo pins for $15, INU Cookbooks for $25 and manuals for $25. Credit Card devices will be available for purchases.

Our Annual Lenora Robinson Scholarship Banquet will be held on Friday, November 11th at the Millennium Temple COGIC Fellowship Hall, 801 Blair St., Alton, IL, 62002; Dr. J. Michael Porter at 618-410-3345 from 2:00 pm –5:00 pm, Several minutes away from the America’s Center. The tickets are $40 and must be purchased in the First Aid Station by Tuesday, November 8th, ticket will not be sold at the door. Please contact Rosa Robinson by email ([email protected]) or phone (323-753-5748) to RSVP the number of members or guests planning to attend by Thursday, November 3rd. If you will not be arriving to the Convocation by Tuesday, November 8th, please send requested funds by another member to pick up the tickets at the First Aid station. Members will be held responsible for held tickets. Please email us and let us know how many tickets you have sold or will purchase, immediately, so we can get a head count. Please invite others. The Banquet Committee has chosen a Soul Food Buffet menu. Please remember to bring $5-10 gift card or cash for door prizes. We will also need healthy gift basket to illicit donations from members and guests for members who have been displaced by storms, hurricanes and other unfortunate disasters. The venue has transportation-Bus pick up at 12:15 pm-1:15 pm @ the American Center on the north side by the Dome entrance near the circular drive (white bus with red decals/Church Trip on top of the front of the bus). We will return to the Americas Center between 5:30 pm-5:45 pm.

Please send your Nurses Unit reports, even if not attending, it assists us in undergirding the ministry, they are follows: Jurisdictional Presidents, $50 and Nurses and Health care professional, $35. If utilizing checks or money orders, please make them out to the Nurses Unit COGIC. Reports can be mailed to our Treasurer, Maxine Ingram at P.O. Box 967, Baldwin, MI 49304 to arrive by Thursday, November 3rd or bring to the convocation. Please stop by the First Aid station or listen to the Convocation announcements daily for unit updates. Prayerfully, we will have more information once we arrive at the Convocation. If the Lord delays his coming, I plan to arrive in St. Louis on Saturday, November 5th and will stay at the Drury Inn Downtown. Many Blessings and thanks in advance for your support of our ministry.
