Often referred to as “The First Lady of Praise and Worship,” Judith Christie McAllister is probably best known for her impact as one of the forerunners of the Praise and Worship movement in the African American Church. Having served for 17 years as Worship Leader at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ (Pastor – Chief Apostle of the COGIC International, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr.), and 13 years as the church’s Executive Director of the Music and Worship Arts Department, she developed a style and approach to Praise and Worship earning her accolades from coast to coast.

A Wife, Mother, Author, prolific Bible Teacher, Prophetic Psalmist and a Grammy Award Nominee for a recording she initiated and co-produced, the West Angeles Mass Choir Project – “No Limit”, she is also CEO of three entities, which enable her to mentor, train and empower the next generation in the ministry of music. Judah Music Group LLC, serves as the springboard for her recordings – “Send Judah First”, “Raise the Praise”, “In His Presence” and “Sound The Trumpet.” Inheritance of Judah Ministries and Never Ending Worship (N.E.W.) Enterprises LLC, provide the foundation for all of her workshops, seminars, ministry services and products.

In 2009, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr., appointed Dr. McAllister to the office of Minister of Music/President of the International Music Department. In this assignment, she oversees the music ministry of the largest Pentecostal denomination in the country, with more than 12,000 congregations and a membership that exceeds 6 million worldwide. From that time to the present, through innovation, inspired instruction and increased structure, her administration has raised the standard of ministry excellence and led the department to many notable accomplishments, whose impact has reached local music ministries and helped to propel them to higher levels of effectiveness.

Judith’s thirst for knowledge of the things of God began at a very young age. Her love of music was first inspired by her mother, the pianist for their church. At 13, she was given the opportunity to study at the Manhattan Bible Institute; and this served as an entrée for higher schools of learning. Matriculating through the State University of New York at Old Westbury, and subsequently transferring to Oral Roberts University, helped to broaden her vision of the ministry to which God had called her – as it was during her years at ORU, attending the Northside Christian Center COGIC, that the revelation of Praise and Worship became real and evident in her life.

Judith McAllister stands as a trailblazer, providing a new paradigm for Kingdom excellence in ministry; and in addition to mentoring music ministers all around the globe, her insightful teaching continues to impact the body of Christ by elevating the understanding of radical, reverent and revelational worship.

The constituents of the International Music Department are pleased to recognize and salute our phenomenal leader, who continues to steer us in the vein of music ministry excellence. Under her leadership, the IMD has gone and continues to soar to seemingly unlimited heights, because of the standard of accountability and responsibility we are held to as members of the Levitical priesthood. On this day of her birth, we celebrate the anointed vessel known all over the world as — DR. JUDITH CHRISTIE MCALLISTER.
