Our Presiding Bishop’s theme for this year will push us to “think outside of the box.” How can we, as the Church of God in Christ, Inc., “minister and witness to a deeply distressed and troubled world”? For us to accomplish this goal effectively, we need to look for ways to multiply our efforts.
One such way to do this is creating strategic partnerships for ministry. Take for example the Annual Christmas Donation drive by New Cross Temple COGIC in Chicago, IL where Dr. James E. Cross is the pastor. They partner with the JointAchievement Network to provide new coats, gloves, hats and other items of warm clothing and, of course, toys during the Christmas season. New Cross Temple COGIC has “adopted” the Fort Dearborn School and work throughout the year to be the hands and feet of Christ in the lives of the students and families of this school.
As we seek to meet the directive of our Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, can you think of ways where strategic partnerships can be forged so we can more effectively “minister and witness to a deeply distressed and troubled world”?
