Superintendent Grover's presence will certainly be missed in the General Council of Pastors & Elders. "Servant of God, well done, thy glorious warfare's past; the battle is fought, the race is won, & thou art crowned @ last."
Superintendent Grover will be sorely missed. I believe he truly was a warrior for God. Supt. Grover was one of my Dad's, Superintendent Herbert J. Purkett Sr., best friends. They traveled together to a lot of the COGIC services. My dad would tell us some funny stories regarding the travels that he and Supt. Grover had. Supt. Grover was such a blessing and encouragement to my mother, Supervisor Mo. Evonia Purkett and all of my family during my fathers illness and death. Supt. Grover took the time to talk with me shortly after my dads death and encouraged me so. That meant so much to me! God bless you Elder Grover!
