Bishop Hunt will be greatly missed. He always carried himself as a true worshipper of the most High God. I pray that his family will be kept by the Love and Blood of Jesus, during this difficult time. Yours in Christ, Sis. J.Thomason.
It is with extreme regret to hear of the passing of Bishop James William Hunt, Sr., Chairman of the General assembly of the Church of God-in-Christ, Inc. I have had an amazing opportunity to be in many General assemblies and witness the competences and his exceptional interactions with the members of the General Assembly on many issues. He demonstrated an all-encompassing knowledge of the Assembly’s Constitution, Bylaws, and the business matters as well, even when he was Vice Chair of the Assembly.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his wife Mrs. Julia Hunt, and family. May the God of all Grace and Mercy comfort you all in these hours of bereavement.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with the Hunt Family, my family during this most difficult time. My cousin will be dearly missed by many. On his last visit to Atlanta, he and I shared a wonderful meal and fellowship. His dad and my mother were biological sisters and brothers. I spoke with him via telephone a short time ago and as we always did, before we would say goodbye, we prayed for each other and God's creation. I'm not saying goodbye but so long because, I'll see you on that Great Getting Up Morning. Thanks cuz for all the encouragement and support. Now, it's time for you to take your rest! You've been faithful over what God gave you stewarship over and he's called you home for your reward! RIP!
Bishop Hunt will be greatly missed. He was truly a churchman in his presiding over the General Assembly. May God comfort the Hunt Family.
