BISHOP HAYGOOD WAS A FRIEND OF MINE. I MET YEARS EARLIER WHEN WE BOTH WERE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. WE DEBATED WELL INTO THE NIGHT OVERWHO SHOULD BE GNERAL BOARD MEMBERS. I GAVE MY ARGUMENT AND HE GAVE HIS . WE LEFT AS FRIENDS WITH MUTUAL RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER. I HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO MOVE TO HIS STATE AND OPEN A NEW CHURCH I SAID NO AT THE TIME I DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE ATLANTA AND I WAS THINKING ABOUT MOVING BACK TO VIRGINIA (MY HOME). I ADMIRED HIM BECAUSE HE BECAME BISHOP AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE I AM TWO YEARS YOUNGER THAN HE. GOD BLESS MY FRIEND. I AM GOING TO MISS HIM. I WAS FRUSTRATING HIM AT ONE TIME EVEN THOUGH HE WAS TWO YEARS OLDER. HE TOLD SIT MY BUT DOWN BEFORE HE GET A STICK AND BEAT THE BLACK OFF OF ME. ( HE WAS JOKING)
I am saddened. I served with Bishop Haygood in the late 80’s when Hope Temple was in the basement of a store front. He was indeed an inspiration to me. God bless the Haygood family.
Never Shall Forget! What You done for Me.
Our love and prayers are with Mother Haygood and the Haygood family.
The entire Haygood Family have our love and support during your time of sorrow. Well Done, Thou Good and Faith Servant!
A Great Man Of God gone home to be with the Lord. He will be gone but not forgotten. RIP soilder and get your reward.
